Dr. Richard Thomas – Director
Dr. Richard Thomas is a family physician who has been practicing for 37 years at Georgian Bay General Hospital and in the community.
He graduated from Queen’s University Medical School in 1978. He then did his Family Medicine training at Memorial University in Newfoundland with extra training in Anesthesia.
He first applied for hospital privileges in 1981. He has held a variety of positions in the hospital such as Vice President of the medical staff, Chief of Anesthesia, and Chief of the Hospitalist service. He did Obstetrics for 35 yrs. He continues to work as an Anesthetist, Hospitalist, and Family Physician.
Richard and his wife Jody live in Midland. He has three daughters and a son. He enjoys skiing, biking, swimming, and reading a good book. He enjoys his work on the board and feels fortunate in being able to give back to a place he has worked in for 37 years.
