May 5, 2020 is #GivingTuesdayNow!   This new global day of giving and unity is planned as an emergency response to the unprecedented need caused by COVID-19.

We need your help purchase 5 new critical care beds for the Intensive Care Unit (ICU) at Georgian Bay General Hospital (GBGH).  We are currently in the process of increasing our ICU capacity; we will care for potential COVID-19 patients in our existing ICU and create a separate ICU surge space for non-COVID patients.

The beds have been strategically purchased now, as there is a critical need for them across the organization, and will be used to replace old or broken units once the pandemic situation has settled.  Each bed cost $12,000, for a total of $60,000.

Hospital beds are an essential piece of equipment used throughout our hospital.

They provide patients a safe place to rest and recover.  New innovation offers a smooth transition from lying down to sitting, for a more comfortable experience.  Easy access controls give patients autonomy and independence as they begin their recovery journey.
