VOLUNTEER DONATION
Our GBGH volunteers may not have been with us in the hospital for much of 2020, but they
still contributed an incredible $115,900 from their fundraising efforts through 2019-2020.
These funds will support critical equipment and technology purchases, and continuing staff
education.
GIVING TUESDAY
$36,960 raised for 2 End Tidal C02 Monitors, to ensure patients are breathing properly during
routine anesthetic procedures. Special thanks to Nick & Marina Boudouris (owners of OPA
Catering, the World Famous Dock Lunch, Pier 21 and operators of Restaurant Sainte-Marie)
for their generous $10,000 match gift.
THE CAPTAIN’S INVITATIONAL GOLF TOURNAMENT
The first-ever Captain’s Invitational golf tournament, presented by Toronto-based Urbacon,
raised more than $354,000 in a single day. The funds raised will complete the surgical
expansion project, which began with the Glenn Howard Charity Golf Classic in 2018.
Additional funds were used to help address the hospital’s significant investment in COVID-19
pandemic preparedness.
POWER OF GIVING VIRTUAL GALA
The Foundation’s first-ever virtual gala streamed live on YouTube on Saturday, August 22nd,
and featured headline entertainment from Chantal Kreviazuk, heart-warming patient stories
and was hosted by dynamic, philanthro-tainer, Layne – The Auctionista. The event recording
(on the GBGH Foundation YouTube channel) has been watched more than 1,650 times and
raised more than $317,000 through online auction, sponsorship and live fundraising.
