2021 REASONS TO
Celebrate!
KICKSTART YOUR HEART
In February, our community rallied to Kickstart the Hearts of patients at GBGH! Thanks
to a generous match gift of $20,000 from Conrad & Donna Huber, local business
donations and incredible community support, $75,000 was raised in just
2 weeks! These funds will help to purchase life-saving crash carts and defibrillators,
allowing care teams at GBGH to deliver critical medication and transport life-saving
equipment to the site of a medical emergency quickly and efficiently within the
hospital.
SPRING APPEAL
What happens when you pair a heartwarming story with a generous business? Steve
& Andrea Jacklin, owners of Tom Smith Chevrolet Buick GMC, were inspired by Nancy
Moreau’s life-saving story at GBGH, and challenged the community with a $25,000
match gift for the spring appeal where Nancy’s story was shared...and it had a huge
impact! Three hundred and sixty donors gave more than $76,000, for a grand total
of $101,000 for GBGH!
GAIL LA CHAPELLE EDUCATION FUND
Each year, the GBGH Foundation awards monies from the Gail La Chapelle Education
Grant and Bursary Fund for nursing staff to continue their education. The Bursary
provides $1,000 in funding for RNs & RPNs advancing in their senior year of Nursing
or pursuing a Masters. The Education Grant provides financial assistance for
courses including palliative care, trauma nursing, advanced cardiac life support,
perioperative nursing, critical care nursing and wound care. This year’s recipients
received a total of more than $4,600 toward continuing their education and
advancing their skills.
BOURGEOIS FAMILY PARTNERSHIP
Adam & Beth Bourgeois, owners of Bourgeois Auto Group, are partnering with the
GBGH Foundation through a $100,000 pledge for the most critical needs of the
hospital. For their 2021 gift, Bourgeois Auto Group will be a proud sponsor of the
Power of Giving Virtual Gala on August 21, 2021. They are also inspiring others to give
through the Foundation’s monthly giving program by offering a generous match gift
for all new monthly donors!
