Sometimes, a new sport, game or book brings a group of friends, colleagues
or neighbours closer together. For the neighbours in Wycliffe Cove, Victoria
Harbour however, their desire to support the Georgian Bay General Hospital
Foundation ignited a spark that quickly spread through their close-knit
community.
TED & LAUREL CHIVERS
In 2016, Ted & Laurel Chivers attended a Breakfast of Champions at GBGH, and
learned about the Cornerstone Partners program. They quickly recognized the
powerful impact that this growing program could have on their community hospital,
and made a commitment to support the hospital financially each year.

Soon after, Ted & Laurel hosted a wine & cheese gathering at their home, inviting their neighbours to
come and learn more about how they too could have an impact at GBGH through the Cornerstone DAVE MINK WITH GBGHF
Partners program. The spark ignited! Within a few months, six neighbours had joined Cornerstone, ED NICOLE KRAFTSCIK
and today this community contributes $26,000 each year to the GBGH Foundation’s Impact Fund.

Over the past 5 years, the Cornerstone Partners program has also attracted a number of business members. Similar to
Wycliffe Cove, many of our local business owners have a desire to support local health care, and are inspired to join the
Cornerstone Partners when presented with the opportunity.
