Whether arriving in the Emergency Department, moving between tests, or
recovering after surgery, patients at GBGH spend a great deal of time on
stretchers. These stretchers are more than just a place to rest—they are a
foundation for comfort, safety, and care.

But over time, constant use takes its toll. Our current stretchers are aging.
They’re harder to steer, missing parts, and no longer provide the smooth,
supportive experience our patients deserve, or the ease of use our care
teams need.

New stretchers are safer, more comfortable, and equipped with built-in
weighing systems that help our teams deliver faster, more accurate care.
They also work seamlessly with portable x-ray machines, reducing the

need to move patients and minimizing discomfort.
