The Georgian Bay General Hospital Foundation (GBGHF) recently recognized Michelle Rogers, owner of Willow Graphix & Co., for giving her time and creativity in support of various fundraising projects over the past five years. In 2018, Rogers donated more than $2,500 in design work to the Foundation, including graphics for the hospital’s CIRQUE Gala, signage for the Georgian Bay Pops, posters for fundraising events and a four-page brochure.
During her history of giving to the Foundation, Rogers has produced numerous graphics, signage, marketing materials and logos at no charge. In-kind donations, such as that made by Rogers, are critical to the success of the Foundation’s fundraising efforts. This in-kind donation enables the Foundation to spend more funds on purchasing critical equipment for the hospital.
“We are a small team in the Foundation office at GBGH, so we are so fortunate to have Michelle as part of our support system, lending her talents for our graphic and design work”, says Kathy Elsdon Befort, interim executive director, GBGH Foundation. “Because she gives of her time to help us with our creative needs, we can spend our time focused on raising funds for the hospital.”
For Michelle, the decision to give back in this way was an easy one – it allows her to support her hospital in a big and meaningful way.
“GBGH is my hospital,” says Rogers. “I remember sitting with my Poppa before he passed away, just holding his hand; I was there every day when my Mom was recovering in ICU; I have welcomed three nieces into the world, and given birth to three of my own children there, and have had to return from time to time when they too have needed care. Even though I don’t know many of the people who work at the hospital, I have relied on them to care for the people I love most in life.”
