The Foundation Office is located in the “Captain’s Cottage”, which is the brown building in the parking lot at Georgian Bay General Hospital.
When we consider a Captain, we think of someone who charts the course, who inspires others to work hard for the good of the team, and who is a strong leader. In his personal, professional and philanthropic activities, Marco Mancini exemplifies all of these qualities, prompting his friends and later his colleagues to affectionately refer to him as “The Captain”. In 2020, the Mancini Foundation made a transformational $5-million gift to the GBGH Foundation. It is a privilege to recognize Marco’s leadership, inspiring work ethic and vision at Georgian Bay General Hospital by naming “The Captain’s Cottage” in his honour.
