The spirit of generosity was in full swing at the 2025 Glenn Howard Charity Golf Tournament, held on Friday, July 18 at Midland Golf & Country Club, where participants, sponsors and supporters came together to raise an incredible $259,604.68 in support of Georgian Bay General Hospital (GBGH).
This year’s proceeds help close the final gap of GBGH Foundation’s $1.8 million fundraising goal to purchase new mammography imaging technology, supporting earlier detection and better outcomes for patients in our community. With this year’s success, the annual tournament has now raised more than $1.25 million for local healthcare since it began in 2016.
“We continue to be blown away by the community’s support,” says tournament host and Canadian curling champion, Glenn Howard. “Every year, this event grows in generosity. Knowing that the funds are helping real people in our own backyard is what makes it so special.”
The tournament was made possible through the dedication of generous sponsors and donors. Title sponsor Tom Smith Chevrolet Buick GMC led the charge, joined by major sponsors Charles Morden Construction Inc., Thor Wealth Management Group, Scotiabank, NT Power, Robert Snyder & Suzanne Strongman, Midland Toyota, Gilkon Construction, B2 Cabinetry, Paul & Sharon Harbottle, and Central Ontario Broadcasting.
Special thanks also go to Marco Mancini and the Wolfe Family, who each contributed $50,000, making a significant impact toward closing the campaign.
The event’s success was further supported by dozens of local businesses and individuals who donated hole-in-one prizes, auction items, and team prizes.
“This event brings together people who love their hospital, and want to make sure excellent care is available here at home,” says Nicole Kraftscik, CEO, GBGH Foundation. “We are deeply grateful to Glenn and the committee, sponsors, donors, all the volunteers, and every golfer who joined us this year.”
