On May 19, 2026, members of the Baxter Ward Lions Club visited the GBGH Foundation to present a generous donation of $3,680.30 raised through their International Women’s Day Luncheon held earlier this spring.
The March event brought community members together for an afternoon of connection, inspiration, and celebration under the 2026 International Women’s Day theme, Give to Gain. Guests enjoyed a wonderful lunch alongside thoughtful guest speakers, door prizes, gift bags, and special performances.
During the luncheon, Jayne Pritchard shared her inspiring personal journey, highlighting strength, resilience, and grace. Dr. Eileen Sacks, surgeon at Georgian Bay General Hospital, spoke about the history and evolution of cancer treatments, offering valuable insight into advances in patient care. The afternoon concluded with an uplifting performance by the SING IT Choir.
Funds raised through the event will help support excellent care close to home through the GBGH Foundation. Community partnerships and fundraising events like this continue to make a meaningful impact for local patients and families.
“We are so grateful to the Baxter Ward Lions for their ongoing support and commitment to local healthcare,” said Robyn Kaczanowski, community giving officer with the GBGH Foundation. “Events like this not only raise important funds, but also bring people together in support of compassionate care in our community.”
