Tim Hortons Smile Cookie raises $44,086 for IV Pumps

Tim Hortons 2019 Smile Cookie Results

For one week – from September 16-22 – our local Tim Hortons restaurants in Midland, Penetanguishene and Port Severn sold Smile Cookies with 100% of the funds collected being donated to Georgian Bay General Hospital.

Thanks to the passion and dedication that our local restaurant owners – Theresa Tennant & Joanne Smith – and their team members showed surrounding the campaign, plus incredible community support, the results this year far surpassed any in recent history.  $44,086 was presented to the GBGH Foundation on November 14, designated to help the hospital upgrade its fleet of IV Infusion Pumps.

“IV Infusion Pumps are used to deliver medication and fluids to patients in every area of the hospital,” says Marnie Lightfoot, Director of Patient Care, GBGH. “Nearly 90% of all patients requiring admission will need some form of intravenous treatment during their stay, and these critical pumps ensure that patients receive the right medication, in the right dosage, at the right frequency for the right length of time.”

The local Tim Hortons restaurants have generously supported Georgian Bay General Hospital during previous Smile Cookie campaigns, with total giving of more than $215,000!

“We are so grateful to the Tennant family & Smith family, and all of their team members, for the incredible impact they are having on patient care at GBGH,” says Nicole Kraftscik, executive director, GBGH Foundation.  “The whole community rallies around the hospital during Smile Cookie week, and the results are tremendous; 44,086 Smile Cookies means 10 new IV Infusion Pumps for patients at GBGH this year!”
