PORT SEVERN – The Southeast Georgian Bay Chamber of Commerce (SEGBAY), in partnership with Bell Media’s Pure Country 106 and 104.1 The Dock, hosted its 6th Annual Golf Tournament on August 13, 2019. The tournament raised a total of $36,000 – with $24,000 being dedicated to the purchase of new IV Infusion Pumps at Georgian Bay General Hospital, and $12,000 dedicated to the Wendat Seniors’ Residence in Penetanguishene.
Picture perfect weather greeted the 160 golfers at Oak Bay Golf Club in Port Severn, who enjoyed the spectacular views of Georgian Bay and the challenges of the course.
Fred Wareing, Chair of the Golf Tournament Committee, stated: “It is truly remarkable to see the generosity of the Sponsors and Golfers who support our tournament each year. We had a tremendously successful day thanks to their support, as well as the many dedicated volunteers who work tirelessly to ensure that a good time is had by all. From the beautiful golf course at Oak Bay, the incredible dinner by Chef Luigi, and the auctions and raffles held after dinner, I feel that the golfers really got great value for their sponsorship dollar. The day was well received by all, and we’ve heard nothing but positive feedback from all parties.”
Wareing went on to say: “We’d like to thank our many sponsors, staff at Oak Bay Golf Club, and the hardworking volunteers. The success of fundraisers like this is dependent on you, and we’re so grateful for your support each year.”
Photos from the day, as well as a list of our many sponsors and volunteers will be listed on the SEGBAY website.
