On September 18, 2023, the Georgian Shores Swinging Seniors (GSSS) group hosted the 4th annual Murray Donaldson Memorial Golf Tournament at Brooklea Golf & Country Club. The tournament consisted of a 4-member team scramble, and an 18-hole mini putt challenge held at Balm Beach Mini Putt for those unable to participate in the scramble. A BBQ lunch was served to all participants after the tournament, along with prizes and a silent auction to raise funds for Georgian Bay General Hospital (GBGH).

The tournament successfully raised $1,330.51, which was donated to the GBGH Foundation towards the purchase of an MRI machine for GBGH.

The GSSS want to thank their silent auction donors: Bourgeois Motors, Midland Home Hardware, Triple Tech Midland, Lesperance Towing, Margaret Worthen of REMAX, Leo Dubeau of Royal LePage, Huronia Steel, Cory Johnson (RBC), Rob Hemming of Realty Executives, Janet Elliot, Georgian Grill, Krown Auto, JP’s Service Centre, Tiny Township, and Surf Restaurant. The Committee also thanks Vicki at Georgian Shores Seniors, and all members of the Golf Committee: Kirk Ure, Shelley Lytwyn, Chris Greer, Wendy Lang, Al Danek, and Chair, Henry Poulie.

Lorraine Cadigan and her husand Randy Oswald of Tiny Township were the lucky winners of the October GBGH 50/50 Grand Prize Draw on October 26th. On November 1, 2023 they were presented with their cheque for $12,978.

Lorraine and Randy have been supporting the GBGH 50/50 Lottery since it’s launch in June, as a way to give back to their local community hospital.
