Donor Spotlight: Peter Jennings

A man with short greying hair combed back and a trimmed beard and moustache. He is wearing a blue shirt.

Peter Jennings is a journalist and published author who now calls Georgian Bay home. Prior to writing full time, Peter spent his career in corporate communications running agencies handling marketing, advertising, branding, PR and content production.

In 2021, Peter first visited Georgian Bay General Hospital (GBGH) as a patient, and learned about the Heartfelt Thanks program. Appreciative of the great care received, he made a donation in honour of the Emergency Department & Diagnostic Imaging teams. Over the next year, Peter responded to a number of the Foundation’s requests for support, as he feels strongly that it’s important to give back and help others where he can.

In December 2022, Peter attended the Foundation’s Virtual Breakfast of Champions, and learned about the Monthly Giving program. At the end of the meeting, he became a monthly giving donor, and joined a family of 50 other individuals who choose to invest in their local hospital and make a significant impact through a regular monthly gift.

“In a wonderful community like Midland and beyond, few things can be more crucial than a robust hospital. The constant demand for brilliant health providers and up-to-date equipment (such as the much needed MRI technology) requires diligent support from the general public. This is why I choose to donate to Georgian Bay General Hospital on a monthly basis. I hope you will too.” ~ Peter Jennings

In 2023, all new monthly donations will be matched by GBGH volunteer and donor, James Layter. To learn more, visit https://gbghf.ca/monthly-giving/ or contact Lisa Wanamaker (wanamakerl@gbgh.on.ca or 705-526-1300 ext. 5342).
