This society celebrates a special group of individuals who are shaping the future of healthcare at Georgian Bay General Hospital by including the GBGH Foundation in their Will or other Estate plans.
The Gil Robillard Legacy Society is named after the visionary, lifelong hospital volunteer and supporter, Gil Robillard. Membership is currently offered to all donors who have included the Georgian Bay General Hospital Foundation in their Will or other estate plans. If you have already included the GBGH Foundation in your estate plans, we would love to hear from you so that, with your permission, we can recognize your generosity in the following ways:
- Adding your name to the Gil Robillard Legacy Society donor wall in the main lobby of the hospital, and on the GBGH Foundation website
- Sending you two annual newsletters with special updates and messages from the GBGH Foundation team
- A special welcome gift
Susan Robillard’s late father, Gil Robillard, was a visionary, lifelong hospital volunteer and supporter who was passionate about planning for the future. On his passing in 2007, the Gil Robillard Endowment Fund (now, the Impact Endowment Fund) was established through the GBGH Foundation.
Over the next several years, additional funds from estate gifts began to accumulate and with strategic investment, the fund grew substantially. With the support of Susan and her husband Phil, the Foundation granted the funds from the Gil Robillard Endowment Fund in 2020 to purchase the 22-acres of vacant land adjacent to the current GBGH property. This land will be held in trust, enabling the hospital to grow to meet future demands for health care services.

Today, the GBGH Foundation allocates 50% of all unrestricted estate gifts to the newly established Impact Endowment Fund, helping our donors create a permanent legacy in support of their Hospital. Gil’s legacy continues to inspire us, showing how a planned gift can create lasting impact for future generations.
Through the Gil Robillard Legacy Society we hope to pay tribute to both Gil and his family, and to each donor who has confirmed a planned gift to the Georgian Bay General Hospital Foundation. Thank you!
