A son’s care remembered

Pat & Jim Shacklady are forever grateful for the wonderful care their son Jamie received at GBGH.  In 2018, Jamie was in palliative care at GBGH, suffering from terminal melanoma cancer. It was the outstanding, compassionate care provided by the doctors and nursing staff that inspires the Shacklady family to honour Jamie’s memory through donations to the hospital.

Pat & Jim have chosen to honour Jamie’s memory by making donations to GBGH, both an annual donation just before Christmas, on the anniversary of Jamie’s passing, and monthly donations throughout the year.

Our annual donation allows us to honour Jamie’s memory with an ornament placed on the beautiful tree in the hospital lobby,” shares Pat.  “And, we appreciate that we can spread our giving out over the year, as it is our way of ‘paying back’ our hospital for the wonderful care our son received.”
