Staff and Volunteers at GBGH ready to serve smiles to raise funds.

What’s better than a cookie that tastes good? A cookie that does good!  Tim Hortons Smile Cookie Campaign is back supporting charities in communities across the country, including Georgian Bay General Hospital (GBGH) – one of 550 Canadian charities, hospitals and community programs supported through the annual campaign.

For one week, from September 16 – 22, the Tim Hortons restaurant owners in Midland, Penetanguishene and Port Severn, Theresa Tennant & Joanne Smith, will donate the full $1 from every freshly baked chocolate chunk Smile Cookie purchased to help buy Smart IV Infusion Pumps for GBGH.

Staff and volunteers from GBGH will be supporting the campaign throughout the week, giving their time to help sell Smile Cookies and thank Tim Hortons patrons for supporting the hospital.

• In 2018, the Smile Cookie campaign raised $7.8 million across Canada, and $35,882 in North Simcoe
• Local Tim Hortons restaurants have donated $217,400 to Georgian Bay General Hospital over the past 7 years
• For over 23 years, we’ve been spreading smiles – the Smile Cookie campaign began in 1996 to help raise funds for the Hamilton Children’s Hospital in Ontario

Waubaushene Legion gives $500

On September 8th, the Waubaushene Legion hosted their Annual General Meeting, with a few special guests from Georgian Bay General Hospital.  After receiving a letter from the hospital in the spring, outlining the urgent equipment needs at GBGH, the members decided to make a special gift.   Legion members presented $500 to Bernie Uhlich, GBGH Board of Directors and Christine Baguley, GBGH Foundation, designated to the most critical needs of the hospital.
