On July 24, more than 60 guests gathered at Rawley Resort for the Celebration of Olive Oil & Wine Dinner — a special evening of great food, local flavours, and community spirit, all in support of the Georgian Bay General Hospital (GBGH) Foundation.
This intimate and engaging event raised $2,685 in support of the Foundation’s campaign to bring mammography services to GBGH, helping to fund essential equipment that will provide local access to life-saving breast screening in North Simcoe.
The evening was made possible thanks to the generous collaboration of Rawley Resort, The Olive Oil Co., and Lidija Biro of Divine Vines, who together created a one-of-a-kind culinary experience featuring premium wines and oils expertly paired with a multi-course menu.
“It was a beautiful evening of connection and community,” says Robyn Kaczanowski, Community Giving Officer, GBGH Foundation. “We are so thankful to everyone who attended, and especially to our partners who made the event possible. Their support is helping bring a vital service closer to home.”
Special thanks are extended to the Baxter Ward Lions Club for running and donating the proceeds from the event’s 50/50 raffle, and to Oak Bay Luxury Getaway for generously sponsoring the evening.
Together, these local champions turned a shared love of food and wine into meaningful impact, bringing us one step closer to launching mammography services at GBGH in early 2026.
