Chris and Candice Bondar are more than just co-chairs of the We See You campaign, they’re the heartbeat behind its momentum. As owners of Gilkon Construction and proud parents to three daughters (plus a bulldog named Rubble), they bring warmth, energy, and unwavering commitment to everything they do.
Their connection to health care is deeply personal. Chris lost his mother to breast cancer in his twenties, and his father passed away just a year later. These profound losses shaped the Bondars’ belief that everyone deserves access to compassionate, timely care, especially in moments of crisis.
“When Nicole invited us to join the campaign, we were inspired,” Chris shared during the campaign launch. “We’ve seen the heartbreak of losing loved ones too soon and the helplessness of watching someone struggle with mental health. Those moments changed us.”
Their leadership is matched by their generosity. The Bondar family has made a bold $100,000 pledge to the We See You campaign, reinforcing their belief in building something better – for their daughters, their neighbours, and every person who walks through the doors at GBGH.
Chris and Candice are not just giving, they are showing up. Volunteering their time, sharing their story, and inspiring others to see GBGH for what it truly is: a lifeline, a place of hope, and a pillar of strength.
