The Glenn Howard Charity Golf Classic will have a new title sponsor in 2023, and beyond. Tom Smith Chevrolet Buick GMC owners, Steve & Andrea Jacklin, have partnered with Glenn Howard to support the tournament with an annual $25,000 sponsorship for five years, beginning with this year’s event on Friday, July 14th at the Midland Golf & Country Club.
“This commitment from Steve & Andrea to support our tournament as the title sponsor is just awesome,” says Glenn Howard, chair, Glenn Howard Charity Golf Classic committee. “Our goal each year is to make as much money as we can for the hospital, and having an engaged, local partner will help us build the tournament up even more. We have an amazing crew of golfers, sponsors and supporters who come out every year, and Steve & Andrea are a great addition to the event.”
The Glenn Howard Charity Golf Classic is a prestigious golf tournament in support of the Georgian Bay General Hospital (GBGH) Foundation, with unique golfer gifts, Scotch-nosing on the course and the Par-Tee on the Green with Jamie Williams after dinner. The tournament has contributed more than $650,000 to the Foundation since 2016, investing in equipment and technology for surgical expansion, automated medication packaging and sterilization equipment.
“Glenn and his committee put on an amazing event for GBGH each year,” shares Steve Jacklin. “We are honoured to partner with Glenn and the GBGH Foundation to support our hospital, and contribute to this very successful event. We look forward to helping where we can to provide great value for the golfers and working together to make a big impact at GBGH.”
Steve & Andrea Jacklin have owned the Tom Smith Chevrolet dealership since 2012, and are strong community supporters. They have contributed more than $55,000 to the GBGH Foundation, supporting fundraising events and vital equipment purchases for the hospital.
