Are there differences between the way men and women experience illness and respond to treatment during their lifetimes? Women have a higher incidence of chronic illness, but men die younger. Is this because of our biology (sex) or our cultural and social roles (gender)? For transgender and gender-fluid individuals, it can be even more complicated.

As men and women, we tend to make assumptions about what the other sex experiences in terms of health and well-being. Join us to learn about how research is challenging these assumptions and busting myths.

In this “Our Health” event, our panel of experts will explore how vascular disease (heart and stroke), bone health and the stresses of caregiving impact men and women differently concerning research, detection, diagnosis, treatment and health outcomes.

Join us on April 19th, 2023, from 7:30 – 9:00 p.m.

“The Difference Sex and Gender Make in Our Health” will be held in person at the MCC, free registration and will also be broadcast on Rogers TV throughout Simcoe County and online at 7:30 PM.
